Piano Man

Voyager, Delta Quadrant, Stardate 52314.4

The crew of voyager converge into the holodeck. . .in the tried and true Sandrines. Tom Paris has had it off-line for months, adding some new elements, but overly drastic changes. Tom opens the arches to the bridge crew and the knewest member, Seven.

"Welcome to Sandrine's." Tom said.

"Great to be back." Harry Kim says. Even Tuvok is there, making Tom wonder who's in command of the ship.

"What are these changes?" Kathryn Janeway asked.

"Ah, good thing you noticed." Tom pulled back a coverlet, revealing a baby grand piano. "I invite you to all sing along with chorus."

Tom sat behind the piano and cracked his hands. "Computer, get ready for simulation."

"Affirmative." the female voice intoned.

The music started. Holodoc plays the harmonica

"It's nine o'clock on a Saturday,
The bridge crew shuffles in
There's a Vulcan sitting next to me
Making love to his tonic and gin.

He says "Tom can you play us a memory,
I'm not really sure how it goes,
But it's sad and its sweet
And we knew it complete
When we were still real close to home.

"Okay, everyone sing!" Tom yells

Sing us a song, you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well we're all in the mood for a melody
And you got us feeling alright.

Now Neelix at the bar is a friend of mine
He gets me my drinks for free
He's quick with a joke, or he'll lift your soul up.
There's no place that he'd rather be.

He says "Tom, I believe this home to me"
As a smile ran across his face
"Well I'm sure that I could be an officer,
If Tuvok would just give me a break!"

Now Chakotay is the first officer of this ship
Who always finds time for his guide
And he's talking to Harry,
Who's still obeys Janeway
And probably will for all life

And the Captain is practicing tennis strokes
While the first officer thinks of amore
Yes we're sharing a trip through the delta quad,
But its better then being alone.

AGAIN!!! Tom shouts through the crowd. The holographic illusion of Kes sidles up behind Tom and everyone smiles. He just couldn't leave her out.

Sing us a song you're the piano man,
Sing us a song tonight
Well we're all in the mood for a melody
We're beginning to feel alright.

It's a pretty good crowd for a Saturday
And the captain gives me a smile
Cause she knows its Sandrines they've been coming to see
To forget about home for awhile

And the piano sounds like a carnival
The microphone smells like a beer
They sit at the bar and play pool for awhile
And say "man, are'nt we glad that your here."

Sing us a song you're the piano man
sing us a song tonight
Well we're all in the mood for a melody
And soon home will be in sight.

Everyone jumps around, hugging and feeling good. Moral improves. Music speaks. Tom gets slapped on the back many times. A sureal music feels the air and everyone partners up and dances.
